Our Founder’s Story
A Vision Built Around Opportunity
Christian’s Manor began with a shared vision between Commissioner Eduardo Cantu and his son, Christian Cantu. Christian always had a heart for people in need.
Even as a young boy, whenever he saw someone who was homeless, he would ask his parents to stop so he could give them a dollar and simply say, “God bless you.” He could never understand why he had a home and they didn’t. Whether we were in McAllen, Austin, or New York City, Christian was always looking for someone he could help.
He never judged them. He never asked how they got there. He just wanted to help.
That compassion became the inspiration for Christian’s Manor.
We created Christian’s Manor to help vulnerable single mothers build a better future—not just by giving them a place to live, but by giving them the opportunity to earn an education, build a career, and become financially independent so they can provide for themselves and their children.
Because when you help a mother change the direction of her life, you also change the direction of her children’s lives.
At Christian’s Manor, we’re helping two generations at a time.
